Item Description
Blue Ribbon Books helped popularize the term "Pop-Up" when it came to books, publishing some of the best examples of the 1930s featuring some of the most popular characters of that era. Offered here is a beautiful 11x12.5" tall by 11.75" deep three-dimensional cardboard display for use w/Blue Ribbon Pop-Up Books. Front of full-color display features Nursery Rhyme characters at left w/large "Pop-Up Books" text separating them from the pop culture darlings of the day - Mickey Mouse, Popeye, Little Black Sambo and Buck Rogers. Archival tape has been added to inner folds at front of die-cut display and 1.5" wide piece of die-cut "P" in "Pop-Up" has been reattached/repaired w/.75" piece from top of "U" also being repaired. .5" piece of surface paper is loose at one right corner point of display back. Fine overall but still very nice for display. Comes w/reading copy of "The Pop-Up Mickey Mouse" book, which has warped covers as displayed. The ultimate piece for the Blue Ribbon book collector. Very rare and the only example we know of.
