Item Description
7.75x11" sheet of black paper has attached sheet of vellum (now loose) w/mixed media original art for cereal box back promoting "Colorful Plastic Major League Baseball Patch," showing "Braves" patch actual size as well as showing the other 15 in the set of 16 (though designs are not distinct). 1950s. Hand-lettered text notes "Free! Inside This Package" and goes on to give suggestions for display. This premium proposal eventually became Post's Ted Williams Baseball Patches premium, featuring Williams on cereal boxes. Vellum shows some lt. handling wear but remains clean and displays Exc. "A Creation Of Sam Gold - Premium King" foil crown sticker at bottom right of black paper. Pin holes at top corners of black paper and aged 1" square of masking tape at lower left w/grease pencil number. Comes w/10 unused file copies of the final premium cloth patches - Giant, Red Legs, Dodgers, Yankees, Orioles, Pirates, Indians, Cardinals, Nationals, Red Sox. Patches have even lt. aging but are o/w VF/Exc. Unique art showing how premium was developed.. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
