Item Description
11x15-7/8" artboard has pen and ink original art by "E-Man" creator Joe Staton and noted comic artist Gray Morrow (1934-2001), who worked for DC Comics and Archie Publications throughout the 1970s and 1980s. He took over the "Buck Rogers" comic strip in 1979 and illustrated the "Tarzan" Sunday page 1983-2001. Art depicts The Grave Digger from Hamilton Comics' "Grave Tales" (which Staton provided the art for) and Madraven Stark from Hamilton's "Maggots" series. The pair are shown in a graveyard, w/The Grave Digger hard at work and a rotted hand emerging from a nearby grave. This art was proposed for a "Grave Tales In Color" series that was advertised in Hamilton Comics issues (using this image), but the color series was ultimately scrapped. Both Staton and Morrow have signed in ink at center left. Exc.
