Item Description
5.5x22x1.5" deep box features great "Tom Corbett Space Cadet" images and name on both sides as well as graphics of gun. Box has some corner tip wear w/brown paper tape reinforcements to interior of end flaps. One inner flap is missing, o/w box is complete and retains its shape w/some scattered creasing. Fine overall but still nice for display. 21.25" long hard plastic/tin litho sparking rifle has "Official Tom Corbett Space Gun" and Rockhill Productions copyright. c. 1950s. Very futuristic design w/tin litho images of "Rocket-Loading Chamber, Ray Adjuster, Positional Indicator, Range Finder" and other details. Attached "sights" have built-in spring. Plastic pieces came in different color combinations of Red/blue/yellow that vary per gun. Wind-up mechanism w/built-in key is contained in forward grip. Works w/popping sounds but gun no longer sparks due to missing flint. Bright, glossy and Exc. Wonderful futuristic design. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
