Item Description
Six-piece club kit issued by Kellogg's in 1951, although no mailing envelope. Vol. 1, No. 1 issue of "Space Cadet News" includes many cast photos and related text w/headlines including "Space Cadets Squadrons Form All Over The USA - Form Your Own Space Squadron - Your Squadron Supply Depot." One article pictures club items, though prototypes are shown and vary slightly from the items produced. Kellogg's premium rings (see item #1702) are mentioned in another article. Tanned w/lt. wear along fold lines and small spot of dark aging. Fine. 5x6.75" certificate has cadet pledge on back and been neatly signed in ink on front/back by recipient. Folded once vertically w/some lt. aging/handling wear. Fine. Glossy cast photo fan card includes "Spaceman's Luck - Tom Corbett Space Cadet" facsimile signature. Minor corner bumps but glossy and VF. 2.5x4" cardboard membership card/decoder has "Secret Cadet Code" on back. Exc. 2-1/8" dia. cello button w/Tom Corbett "Space Cadet" symbol shows wear w/bumps from bar pin on back but remains glossy and Fine/VF. 2x4" embroidered "Space Cadet" patch is NM. Complete kits are scarce. Comes w/two cereal box cut-outs; one is "Space Cadet" visor and other is Tom Corbett photo.
