Item Description
Pair of movie theater promotional items for the original releases of two 1930s comedies starring Jimmy Durante. 7x8.5" paper "Certificate Of Membership In The Baron Munchausen Club" features photo portraits of "Meet The Baron" (1933) stars Jack Pearl and Durante wearing college mortarboards. Certificate was a theater giveaway and has Paramount Theatre of Fremont, OH imprint at bottom. Certificate shows moderate wear, w/two .25" holes along right edge, glue staining at bottom corners and scattered handling wear. VG overall. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA. 4x7" die-cut cardstock game features caricature of Durante at left, his comically large nose serving as ring toss type game that was given out by theater to promote 1934's "Palooka." Robbins National Theatre imprint along bottom. Game is missing string/loop and has crease to nose w/archival tape repair/reinforcement added to back. Fine/VF overall. Both are rare and the first we've offered in our 52 years.
