Item Description
2" chrome metal case pocket watch by Ingersoll. 1953. Back of case has stamped image of Eagle Comics logo w/"Eagle" name below. Dan Dare was Britain's answer to Buck Rogers, his stories appearing in "Eagle Comics." Watch is double-animated, w/Dan's hand going up and down and secondary rocketship dial progressing as seconds tick away. Dial features Dan Dare pointing pistol at sea monster in distance. Watch was produced in two varieties, one with "Ingersoll" name in black text at top (version offered here), another version w/"Dan Dare" name in black at top w/no Ingersoll mention. Case and crystal have scattered surface wear w/some small pinpoint spots of luster loss on back. Fine/VF. Dial remains clean and Exc. Running. Great design.
