Item Description
Lot of five enamel metal pins, including two on original 2.75x4.25" illustrated cards as issued by Wheatena, 1930s. Pair of 1-5/8" tall Popeye and Olive Oyl brass pins are attached to original cards, each showing the three pins in the set (but not the Jeep pin that was also produced) w/"Wheatena Makes Muscle!" text at top. Each card has character-respective text referring to other pins in the set. Cards have some handling wear w/3.5" diagonal crease across Popeye card, which is Fine/VF. Olive Oyl card is VF/Exc. Cards are scarce. Both pins are NM. Lot also includes loose 1-3/8" tall Wimpy and 1.25" tall Jeep  from the set, which are both NM. Last piece in lot is 15/16" dia. enamel on brass w/die-cut image of Popeye at center, surrounded by "Club Popeye - Sailors - Inn - Yokosuka - Tel 1982" text, referring to one of the US Navy's oldest and most popular bars, located near the Yokosuka Naval Base. Exc.
