Item Description
2-3/16" dia. cello mirror features great scene of Buster Brown holding up one of his shoes for display while Tige holds up a shoe box lid (which features small images of them both). Issued c. 1912 and among the very earliest from The Brown Shoe Co. Cello has a number of surface bumps that are only noticeable to the touch or in reflected light. Very little wear to mirror itself and surface has full gloss and incredible color. Exc. 2-7/8x4.25" cardboard pocket mirror w/glass insert designed like hand mirror has classic Buster and Tige portraits w/"See Yourself In Buster Brown Shoes" text. c. 1920. Mirror has moderate aging w/some spiderwebbing and cardboard shows some scattered minor staining. Fine overall. Rare. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
