Item Description
Oct. 3, 1941.  7x9" glossy shows crowd lined up with umbrellas and tarps on rainy sidewalk with "Bleachers $1.10" sign in bkg. between two Camel Cigarette billboards.  Acme Photos New York.  Printed paper caption attached to back is titled "Can't Dampen That Dodger Spirit."  Text mentions "Brooklyn Fans - Male And Female - Wait Outside The Bleachers Entrance To Ebbets Field To See Their "Bums" In The Third Game Of The World Series."  Rain caused the game to be postponed.  In 1941, the Dodgers won their first pennant in 21 years but lost to the New York Yankees in the World Series.  Photo has lt. handling creases, mostly just visible in reflected light.  Center has pair of .25" tan circles which blend well with image.  Fine.  From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
