Item Description
First is large 4 feet x 5 feet 9" double-sided dark blue velveteen banner with lettering in white felt. One end has five large brass grommets for hanging vertically and other three sides are in fringe. c. 1940s and used by "Local No. 188/Stockton, Calif." The "N" of "No" has small traces of white glue around it on both sides and one side has 1.5" hairline stitched repair showing very little. Overall VF. Second is 3.5 feet x 5.5 feet dark blue synthetic fabric with heavy yellow fabric stitching forming the letters plus a giant 17" dia. "USA/CIO" center logo. Three sides have fringe and fourth side has an opening holding a thick yellow cord with large elaborate tassels on each end. The banner probably also had a wood rod in the opening holding the cord but no longer present. One end of the opening for the cord has a 2" tear but it shows little and rest is in Exc. condition. From "Local No. 1270 / Ambridge, Penna. and c. 1950. Each is likely a unique labor banner.
