Item Description
Lot consists of later 1940s club-issued items. Club kit consists of illustrated envelope w/"Captain Marvel Club" return address and typed recipient name/address. Envelope shows wear as mailed w/scattered aging and 2.25" corner tear. VG. 8.5x10.75" welcome letter and premium order sheet have both been folded as mailed. Letter mentions 700,000 club members, what's included in kit as well as Fawcett comic book titles including "Captain Marvel Adventures, Whiz Comics" and "The Marvel Family." Other Fawcett heroes are also mentioned. Letter is Exc. Double-sided order form shows Captain Marvel holding "Captain Marvel's Giant Gift Offer Of Playthings" catalog which could be sent away for w/coupon and $1 while other side shows premiums including glow pictures, Mary Marvel pin, pennant patch/emblems, hat, etc. Unused and VF w/small tear at upper left fold line. Other kit items include "Captain Marvel's Magic Membership Card" (which features changing images of Captain Marvel and his alter-ego Billy Batson), "Captain Marvel's Secret Message" slip and 1-1/8" dia. tin litho club button. Card and slip are Exc. Button has trace wear and is VF overall. Comes w/3x3.75" shield-shaped felt patch/emblem (not part of the base kit but shown on premium order sheet), which has some original backing material on back. Trace wear/aging but VF overall.
