Item Description
3.5x4.5" rectangular felt patch/emblem. Issued as a Fawcett premium, c. 1943. Patch features "Capt. Marvel" name and same image of flying Captain Marvel as the later shield-shaped patch, but this rectangular version is scarcer and this yellow version is a even rarer color variety and is the rarest of all Captain Marvel patches. Patch remains bright, clean and displays NM. First we've offered of this variety in decades. Comes w/mailing envelope (w/"Remember Pearl Harbor" inkstamp) w/Captain Marvel image and "Captain Marvel Club" return address. Envelope has been opened along top and shows dust soiling/aging. Contains 4-1/8x9.25" slip of paper showing premium patch/emblem and coupon for premium has been clipped. Paper also has.5x.75" area of surface paper lift. Both envelope and paper are Fine overall.
