Item Description
22x34" poster advertises April 25, 1970 concert at Painters Mill Music Fair presented by "Tree Frog Productions" featuring John Mayall and Elliot Randall. Poster was printed using split fountain technique w/color changing from black at top to navy blue at bottom. Poster features bottle design w/label featuring photo image of legendary bluesman John Mayall surrounded by "John Mayall's Rapid Reliable Remedy For The Blues And Most Other Ailments" text. Likely a printer's proof.

The Baltimore suburb of Owings Mills, MD saw a rag-tag group of hippies (under the moniker Tree Frog Productions) create a 16-month party promoting concerts at Painter's Mill Music Fair. The venue was constructed for theatrical plays and featured a revolving stage for productions in the round. "It was kind of the area's version of what was happening at the Fillmore in San Francisco" says Ron Nix, a regular attendee and collector who had the foresight to preserve a selection of posters produced for advertising the famed concert series.

Poster has some lt. scattered handling wear w/strip of faint staining along upper left and more moderate handling wear at upper right corner. Fine/VF overall.
