Item Description
22x32" thin cardboard poster advertises March 14, 1971 concert at Painters Mill Music Fair presented by "Tree Frog Productions" featuring Johnny Winter and Brethren. Art features gathering of singing pirates w/"Oh It Is A Wonderful Thing To Be A Pirate King" text across border design. Mirror images of eyepatch-wearing pirate frog at bottom corners. Lower right has been signed in black felt tip pen by the artist Michael Goldberg, who adds "March '71" date.

The Baltimore suburb of Owings Mills, MD saw a rag-tag group of hippies (under the moniker Tree Frog Productions) create a 16-month party promoting concerts at Painter's Mill Music Fair. The venue was constructed for theatrical plays and featured a revolving stage for productions in the round. "It was kind of the area's version of what was happening at the Fillmore in San Francisco" says Ron Nix, a regular attendee and collector who had the foresight to preserve a selection of posters produced for advertising the famed concert series.

Poster shows scattered aging and has obvious moisture staining at left corners and across majority of top margin. Top margin also has some pin holes, two of which infringe upon image area. Corner tip wear. Poster if VG overall.
