Item Description
2-1/8" with Bastian paper. Full text is "Long Beach Festival Of The Sea/Long Beach, Calif./Sept. 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5. 1908." The four largest words making up the text are formed by sea snakes with circular heads and tiny facial details. We've offered six examples of this stunning button in our 52 years. However, this is the only one to show a color registration mis-alignment with the red color about 1/16" off register seen primarily on the mermaid's flesh tone areas and hair. The button otherwise has very minor and typical bit of surface wear seen only on very close viewing. Aside from the registration issue, condition is Exc.
