Item Description
21-7/8x31-7/8" frame contains war poster printed by U.S. Government Printing Office, 1918. Poster features stunning art by Howard Chandler Christy (famous for his "Christy Girl" illustrations), depicting Liberty standing in front of American flag, gesturing to crew of sailors attending to gun on ship's deck. Poster was printed to support the Fourth Liberty Loan and features "Buy Bonds - Fourth Liberty Loan" text. Poster has heavy horizontal crease at center as issued and shows scattered handling wear w/some small spots of staining at upper right corner. Poster has been professionally framed under Tru Vue Conservation Glass and has not been removed for inspection. Displays VF as framed. Mike Nichols Collection.
