Item Description
Five-piece die-cut double-sided cardboard mobile attached w/original strings consists of large 27" long "Space Patrol Terra IV" rocketship, 10.5" long rocket sled, hanging portrait of "Buzz Corry - Commander Of Space Patrol," hanging box of Rice Chex and small planet. Cereal box has image of "Space Patrol" member Happy motioning towards "Magic Space Picture" that was issued as a box insert in boxes of Rice and Wheat Chex (for which another similar mobile was produced; both are rare but the Rice Chex variety is the better of the two as it features Terra IV ship where other did not). Same designs on both sides of each piece. Cereal box and planet pieces are not connected to rest of mobile. Mobile hung in stores to advertise both cereals and premium (see following two items), 1953. Pieces are evenly aged and Terra IV ship shows moderate wear w/tip of nose missing and heavy crease at tip. Top of rocket has two pin holes and tail fins have some scattered creasing. Fine. Other pieces show just some lt. scattered dust soiling and are VF overall. One of the best Space Patrol items we've seen. Rare and the only example we've offered in our 52 years. This is the actual example shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
