Item Description
26x38.75" flush mounted on thin board that is mounted to a 28x38.75" piece of mat board. 1900. Dramatic image featuring a group of laborers, military personnel (one with a "GAR" hat) and businessmen carrying a large "Sound Money" gold dollar w/McKinley standing on top of the coin. Top, left and right margins trimmed not affecting the graphics. Bottom edge has about 3" trimmed affecting the legs of the figures and removing the "Northwestern Litho Co. Milwaukee" notation typically at bottom left. Scattered toning and handling wear most notably; a horizontal center fold and a 4.5" tear affecting the "PE" in "Prosperity." Technically Good. Trimming is never ideal but here it is not obtrusive and the image remains impressive. This design is among the very best lithos. of the golden age of political campaigning and this is an excellent opportunity to obtain this highly sought image at a more cost-effective amount than that the typical five figure prices commanded by high grade examples.
