Item Description
All items were issued by Educator Biscuit Co. in 1934. "Dick Steel, Boy Reporter" was a NBC radio serial that saw several premiums issued related to police work and newspaper reporting. Lot includes 12 pieces - mailing envelope w/"Educator Biscuit Company" return address and typed mailing label, "Secrets Of Police Reporting" manual, glossy 8x10" photo, "Neighborhood News" Vol. 1 #1 newspaper, "Dick Steel News Service" w/tips on publishing your own newspaper, illustrated sheet of detective equipment that was available as premiums, 2x4" membership "Official Press Card" w/neatly inked name, unused order sheet for "Detective Bureau" badge and brass badge example, 2.5" long tin litho "Special Police Reporters Whistle," and two metal "Dick Steel News Service" badges - pressed brass w/Dick Steel portrait and stamped tin "Reporter" badge. Paper items show varying degrees of wear, and envelope shows obvious wear. VG w/rest Fine to Exc. Whistle has some trace wear and is VF/Exc. Brass badges retain much bright luster and are Exc. to NM. Tin badge has lt. patina and is VF. An instant collection including some scarce pieces, many of which are the actual examples shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA.
