Item Description
4.75x5.5" sticker likely C. 1966 and issued in Alabama by the Lowndes County Freedom Organization (LCFO) w/the support of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). This leaping panther logo, developed by SNCC field secretary Ruth Howard to help illiterate local residents identify the party, would later be adopted by the Bay Area Black Panther Party. Heavy handling wear and scattered toning. Fine. Buttons are each 1.5" dia. and have surface wear and age toning. Fine.
