Item Description
1960s ephemera pair spotlighting hippie culture. 14.25x18" poster features Eli Leon's photo showing large hippie gathering of the Berkeley Tribe at the 1969 "Harvest Festival" held at Live Oak Park in Berkeley, CA. Groups includes nude man seated at front, a number of musicians as well as many hippie children. Some corner tip wear but VF/Exc. Comes w/8.5x11" flyer for "The Original Great Springout - A Megalopolitan Peacepipe Pow-Wow" that was held April 15, 1967 in Central Park's Sheep Meadow in New York City, NY. Psychedelic image by Martin Carey features many winged figures, including angels and chickens as well as flowers and what appear to be hookahs. Text notes "Many Smokes And Spring Seasonings," going on to mention "Spring Mobilization To End The War In Vietnam." Flyer has been mounted to foamcore frame display and is NM aside from tiny spot of margin aging at lower left. Scarce.
