Item Description
In addition to these two and the Bill Boyd (Hopalong Cassidy) in the following lot #1424, also known are Gene Autry and Bill Elliott. This small series was issued early in World War II. Most, like these two, do not have a back paper, but back papers are known and name a bread company with text: "Freihofer's/The Perfect Loaf/Copyright 1942/Jay-Gee/Enterprises/Reading, Pa". We've  seen only six for Roy and six for Starrett. Both very scarce and NM displaying Mint.
