Item Description
Original Bulova shipping box contains well designed and constructed countertop advertising display measuring 16x21.5x9" deep. 1950s. Incomplete shipping box shows obvious aging and wear and has become brittle w/age, top flap w/partial Bulova label loose but included. Box is Poor and just comes along. Display is designed like outdoor billboard w/metal frame around "billboard" surrounded by painted sky bkg. w/faux shrubbery/trees. Metal frame has worn "Bulova" painted logo. Die-cut board insert has printed "Give Bulova - For Him! - For Her! For Ever!" text. The two die-cut window features images of couple presenting watch to older woman and older man. These scenes then switch, w/the panels collapsing to reveal secondary images of bride and graduate admiring their new watches and husband and wife hugging, their Bulova watches prominently displayed. These changes are driven by working motor attached at back. Display has two poles w/working lightbulbs that further the billboard effect. Two brackets are mounted to sides of display, each holding metal shelf for holding watch display models. Bottom front has plastic picket fence and simulated bushes w/foam pad for displaying additional watches. Display lights and works well. Aside from some aging and wear to painted Bulova logo at top, displays VF. Comes w/aged survey card about the display and aged 3.5x5.25x1.75" hard plastic hinged lid "Bulova" case w/flocked insert. Rare and impressive mechanical display. First we've seen in our 53 years.
