Item Description
This is one of Whitehead & Hoag's masterpieces. Their name appears in tiny text on the bottom edge of this 4" button which has metal covered deeply concave back. The original safety-style pin is soldered on the upper metal rim of the back edge. On the lower right front, at the water/skyline, there are about one dozen nearly microscopic air bubble dots in the cello surface. These barely show. The button has no stain and has high gloss. Rising above swirling foamy ocean waters is the machine itself supported by four legs. Machine and the rim both carry the name of the maker "Voss Bro's Mfg. Co., Davenport, Iowa." One of only three examples known to us. An example with some cello damage exceeded $800 in Auction 209. NM as made and a spectacular advertising button.
