Item Description
First is 1-1/8" tall plastic tag holed for dog collar attachment. Front is inscribed "Dogs For Defense" , a program begun in January, 1942 for donated pet dogs to join the Army Quartermaster Corps to be trained for guard and patrol duties. Contributing owners received a window sticker and a certificate naming their dog's rank. Reverse shows a dog's footprint with text "Member War Dog Fund". Only our third seen. Next are 3 1" buttons all with the "Keep "Em" Firing or Shooting theme and one names Hercules Powder while the other names U.S. Army Ordnance. First has W&H back paper. All scarce. All NM to Mint.
