Item Description
1.5x2.25" Cuban card produced for the Aguilitas Cigarette brand and a follow-up to the 1924-1925 series. The baseball cards are a subset featuring 37 players from the Cuban Professional League. This extensive 900 card set also featured movie and stage stars, boxers, soccer players and other subjects.

Glossy photo front with text below portrait "Base-Ball A. Luque (Pitcher)". Luque was an early 20th century Cuban starting pitcher in Major League baseball. He was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds HOF in 1967. A native of Havana, Luque played winter baseball in the Cuban League from 1912 to 1945. He was also a long-time manager in the league. He was elected to the Cuban Baseball HOF in 1957.The card back has the card number and an ad for Aguilitas (the baseball cards were skip numbered between 751 and 849). Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
