Item Description
1-5/8x2-3/8" Cuban card from set distributed in packs of Diaz cigarettes. The cards in this set feature players from the 1923-1924 Cuban Professional League. 85 cards are in the set, the largest and one of the scarcest of all 1920s Cuban card issues. Printed in dark brown with photo on front along with team and player name and position "V. Gonzales - (Sirique) Umpire Home."

Valentin Gonzales was a center-fielder in the Cuban League primarily with Habana and later became an Umpire within the same league. He was inducted into the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939. Card back on this card is blank. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
