Item Description
1-5/8x2-3/8" Cuban card from set distributed in packs of Diaz cigarettes. The cards in this set feature players from the 1923-1924 Cuban Professional League. 85 cards are in the set, the largest and one of the scarcest of all 1920s Cuban card issues. Printed in dark brown with photo on front along with team and player name and position "Quintana - Infielder Habana B.B.C."
Rafael Quintana played minor league baseball over six seasons with six different teams as well as two seasons in the Cuban leagues splitting time between Habana and Almendares. Card back includes number and description of the series with offer for an album. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
