Item Description
1.5x1.75" w/bw photo front and text back w/player information. These were issued in matchboxes. Over 100 cards in the set and numerous photo and back varieties exist.
Miguel Angel González Cordero was a Cuban catcher, coach and interim manager in American Major League Baseball during the first half of the 20th century. Along with Adolfo Luque, González was one of the first Cubans or Latin Americans to have a long off-field career in the U.S. Major Leagues. As a coach, he was a four time World Series champion with the St. Louis Cardinals from 1934-46. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
