Item Description
Gary Baseman is a contemporary artist who works in various creative fields, including illustration, fine art, toy design, and animation. He is the creator of the Emmy-winning ABC/Disney cartoon series, "Teacher's Pet," and the artistic designer of "Cranium," a popular award-winning board game. Baseman's aesthetic combines iconic pop art images, pre-and post-war vintage motifs, cross-cultural mythology and literary and psychological archetypes. He is noted for his playful, devious and cleverly named creatures, which recur throughout his body of work. Offered here are two first edition hardcovers w/dustjackets. "Dumb Luck" was printed by Chronicle Books LLC, ©2004. Title page has been inscribed "To Charlie" and features Baseman's black/red felt tip pen original art of pegleg rabbit seen on cover and has signed his last name, adding "2005" date. Exc./NM."Strong Stuff - Herakles And His Labors" book features illustrations by Baseman, who has signed page opposite title page "To Charlie & Joan" and adding black/red felt tip pen original art portrait of Herakles  and has signed his last name, adding "2005" date.
