Item Description
14.5x18.25x2.25" deep cardboard box converts into a stage and contains complete set of seven soft vinyl head/cloth body puppets, each 9.5-10" tall. Peter Puppet Playthings, Inc. c. 1950s. Puppets include - Howdy Doody, Princess, Dilly Dally, Mr. Bluster, Clarabell, Flub-A-Dub and Zippy the monkey (who was added later as noted by the "6 Puppets" inkstamp over printed number on box). Puppets are complete w/google eyes and show varying degrees of aging/dust soiling and are Fine to VF overall. Box is designed like "Howdy Doody Club-House" w/illustration of the Peanut Gallery along w/Howdy character pennants and die-cut windows that pop open. Box shows wear w/staple pulls to bottom and scattered creasing/dust soiling. Fine. Nicely designed set. Puppets are scarce and stage is rare.
