Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte postcard depicting 14 members of the Ceresota Flour baseball team located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Credit on the back of the postcard indicates that it was printed by Chilton Printing Co., Philadelphia, PA. Formed all the way back in 1891, the Ceresota Flour company is most famously known for their pizza dough flour, still sold on the market today. Company ballplayers appear on oval insets with names included underneath, some of which are not fully discernable. Players include: Ed Martin, James Geary, Carl Menhenick, Gerald Derrick, Edward Carey, Frank Martin, Collins, William Minardo, Harry Buckwell and Loyd Lunt. In addition to the company advertising slogan printed at the bottom of the postcard, there is also a pink background scorecard in the center where the two competing teams for the day could present batting orders along with a complete box score of the ballgame. Back of postcard is divided and includes the flour company addresses on one side and a space for mailing address on the other, which is blank and unused. Minor corner and foxing in a few spots are evident but do not detract from the overall appearance of the postcard. VF. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
