Item Description
Embossed 10.5x14.5" die-cut features image of Santa Claus handing out presents to children, who climb ladder to see him. Unmarked but made in Germany, 1890s. Santa peers over large chimney which has printed "Compliments Of Philipp Stamm, Choice Meats, 322 Milwaukee Avenue - Corner Erie Street" text. These die-cut advertisements featured elaborate/delightful graphics and were produced in a wide variety of designs to be sold in stores or as in this case, to be given as premiums to good customers. Separation at base of ladder so die-cut can be displayed standing up or can be hung for display using hole at top. Lower left corner has creasing and lower right corner tip shows some wear. Back shows some scattered surface paper wear as once mounted in scrapbook. Fine overall.
