Item Description
Pair of approx. 12" tall die-cut cardstock Santa Clauses, 1890s. One shows pipe-smoking Santa in greenish coat, carrying Christmas tree and laden w/all sorts of toys. Back has some surface paper wear/residue as once mounted in scrapbook, but front remains glossy and displays Exc. Second shows pipe-smoking Santa in green coat unloading case of "Ayer's Cherry Pectoral" medicine from his sleigh as reindeer patiently wait in bkg. Back has extensive text, telling the story of Christmas and Santa Claus as well as much text promoting Ayer's medicine. Bottom has been trimmed, but this does not affect image. Scattered edge wear, w/some foxing to top of Santa's hat. Fine/VF.
