Item Description
5-3/8x7.75" vintage program/yearbook covering all four of the traditional Cuban League baseball powers, Almendares, Habana, Cienfuegos & Mariano. Box Scores detailing the entire 1946-47 winter league season are presented along with team photos of all four clubs and numerous individual images of Negro and Cuban League stars of the day. Among the most notable names here are: Martin Dihigo, Adolfo Luque, Cocaina Garcia, Buck O'Neill, Lazaro Salazar, Hank Thompson, Pedro Formental, Julio Rojo, Luis Tiant Sr., Tetelo Vargas, Armando Marsans, Ray Dandridge and Minnie Minoso. Both team as well as individual batting and pitching statistics are covered at the end of the program. Lots of local business ads appear throughout the program as well. Item shows significant handling wear on both the front and back covers, with a chunk of paper missing from the upper left-hand corner on back. Interior pages have tanned considerably but unharmed except for a small tear here and there. Good. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
