Item Description
20x30" original first printing. Art of Rock 4.273. Signed in print at lower left "K. Burness." Advertising a concert Sept. 22, 1973 at Cardiff Castle in Wales, England w/outstanding art featuring a large dragon w/Rolling Stones lips and tongue. This show was canceled and the majority of the original posters were destroyed. The few survivors all came from a Stones tour manager including this example. Tiny corner crease at bottom left and a tiny surface paper lift at bottom center. Otherwise handling wear contained to borders. VF. Of these few surviving examples all we have encountered have some degree of margin wear and light creasing. Gorgeous five color print w/the fifth color a layer of silver ink encompassing the border and text at top. The majority of wear is contained to the outer margins and this poster will frame beautifully. Also included is a 12.75x17.25" clipped full page Melody Maker newsprint ad for the show.
