Item Description
Melvin Purvis (see previous item) resigned from the FBI in 1935 and later served in the US Army as an intelligence officer during World War II, reaching the rank of colonel. He assisted w/compiling evidence against Nazi leaders in the Nuremberg trials. Offered here is 2.5x3.5" personal "Officers Mess" of Purvis, issued for "Headquarters, SOS, APO 750" and signed in black ink by Purvis as well as Officers Mess Custodian, both signatures having aged to brown but still bold and distinct. Card has authorized balance inked on back Custodian's signature. Card is evenly aged and shows lt. handling wear. Fine/VF. One-of-a-kind personal artifact from the legendary lawman. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA. From the collection of former FBI Agent Lin DeVecchio.
