1" w/W&H back paper. 1942. Issued by "Chicago Defender Defense Program." Featured is large "V" for victory and Lady Justice. Slogans below "Fight To Save Democracy" and "Victory With Justice For All." Third slogan reads "Remember Pearl Harbor And Sikeston Too" references a lynching in Sikeston, Missouri on January 20,1942. A black oil mill worker assaulted a white women in her home and nearly killed the first police officer who attempted to arrest him. An angry mob hauled Cleo Wright from jail and gruesomely murdered him. Button is NM and displays Mint.
