Item Description
"Ranch Romances," by far the most successful of the Western romance pulps, enjoyed a 47-year run and over 860 issues published from Sept. 1924 through Nov. 1971. Fanny Ellsworth (who also handled the reigns of detective pulp icon Black Mask from 1936 to 1940) edited "Ranch Romances) for half its existence, and three different publishers, from 1929 to 1953. Offered here is the Sept. 1935 issue, Vol. 62, #4. Pulp has two pages advertising the two rare "Ranch Romances Trails End Club" premiums included in this lot - a member's pin and bracelet. Pulp has typical moderate wear to cover overlap and shows moderate wear at bottom of spine. Cover o/w remains clean and Fine. Pages have some margin aging but remain supple and VF. .5" dia. white metal pin has "RR" logo in center surrounded by "Trails End Club - Where Wanderers Meet" text. NM. 6" wide white metal chain link bracelet has .5" dia. emblem at center, featuring same design as pin. NM. Both pin and bracelet are attached to cards which are labeled as "Exhibit," and were likely used in a court case involving copyright. Both pin and bracelet are rare. Both are the actual examples shown in "The Official Price Guide To Pop Culture Memorabilia" by Ted Hake and comes with COA. A unique lot for the pulp collector.
