20-7/8x22" cardboard store sign advertising Chesterfield cigarette features six 1940s baseball personalities, including four members of the Baseball HOF. in 1948, sign features images of HOF members Bucky Harris, Ted Williams, Stan Musial and Joe DiMaggio (AL MVP) alongside Bob Elliott (NL MVP) and Ewell Blackwell on baseball diamond bkg., surrounding pack of Chesterfields. Always Buy Chesterfield" text at bottom. Approx. bottom 3" of sign have been professionally replaced and sign has had scattered professional restoration to holes, margin tears/chips and surface paper lifts. Faces of baseball stars have had little to minimal restoration. Much attention was paid during restoration and as such, sign now displays Exc. and retains vivid color. Cardboard backing has slight warp but would make for wonderful framed display. Rare and desirable sign that has sold for $3,000 to $5,000 or more in unrestored condition.
