Item Description
1-5/8x2-3/8" Cuban card from set distributed in packs of Diaz cigarettes. The cards in this set feature players from the 1923-1924 Cuban Professional League. 85 cards are in the set, the largest and one of the scarcest of all 1920s Cuban card issues. Printed in dark brown with photo on front along with team and player name and position "J. Perez (Pepin) Infielder Marianao B.B.C."  

One of only 3 in the SGC census.

Perez was a regular infielder for the Cuban Stars team in the Negro National League throughout the 1920's. Pepin is documented as having played first base, second base, third base, shortstop, catcher and even pitcher. Card back includes number and description of the series with offer for an album. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
