Text at bottom lists; Lyndon Johnson President; "Hubert Humphrey Vice President"; "Aaron Henry Senate"; "Fannie Lou Hamer Congress 2nd Dist."; "Annie Devine Congress 4th Dist." and "Victoria Gray Congress 5th Dist." Edge and corner wear w/handling wrinkles along lower third. Fine. The Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party was founded by Henry along w/Fannie Lou Hamer, Ella Baker, and Robert Parris Moses. In 1963, unable to cast votes in the primary, they organized the "Freedom Ballot" to challenge the white only Democratic party in Mississippi and attempted to get their delegates seated at the 1964 Democratic National Convention.
