Item Description
1-5/8x2-3/8" Cuban card from set distributed in packs of Diaz cigarettes. The cards in this set feature players from the 1923-1924 Cuban Professional League. 85 cards are in the set, the largest and one of the scarcest of all 1920s Cuban card issues. Printed in dark brown with photo on front along with team and player name and position "Cueto - Infielder Almendares B.B.C."

One of three graded examples in the SGC Census.

Cueto played in the major leagues for the St. Louis Terriers in the Federal League in 1914 and the Cincinnati Reds from 1917-1919. He was in the Cuban Leagues for 20 seasons from 1912-1933 and is in the Cuban Baseball Hall Of Fame. Card back includes number and description of the series with offer for an album. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
