Item Description
10-5/8" tall silver-plated cup trophy that was personally presented and held by Pittsburgh Pirates player/manager/coach (1900-1917, manager 1917, coach 1933-1951) and Baseball HOF member Honus Wagner. Created by Dieges & Clust (as noted on underside of base), front has been engraved "Champions 1923 - Triple Link Section 3 - Presented By Honus Wagner" w/base having engraved "No. 1004." Cup is held by crossed baseball bats w/baseball resting atop base. Trophy shows much luster wear, more evident on back than front. Fine overall. Neat piece w/direct association to one of the true legends of baseball, acquired in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
