Item Description
Glossy 8x10" photo features classic image of Jim Thorpe (1887-1953) on the field in his Canton Bulldogs football uniform, c. 1915-1920. Photo has been signed in black ink at lower right and is inscribed to then California Governor (and later Supreme Court Justice) Earl Warren. Inscription reads "To My Good Friend Honorable Govnor [sic] Earl Warren From Jim Thorpe - 1950." Thorpe has signed his name on printed rectangular white block area of photo, which makes his signature really stand out. Photo has some scattered handling wear and bottom corners have tiny tips off, but overall photo displays VF. Classic Thorpe image, further enhanced by this signature of this multi-sport legend to another historical figure. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
