Item Description
3" w/union back stamp and "Chicago 483" union bug on curl at 6 o'clock. Moderate surface wear only in reflected light. Exc. displaying Mint, With both major party conventions staged in the Windy City during the summer of 1952, the early Chicago hamburger chain Peter Pan Snack Shops took advantage issuing this and an equally rare "Madly For Adlai Burgers" as part of a campaign to sell hamburgers to Democrats & Republicans- and we can't think of anything more American than that. We are only aware of this example originally hailing from the Gary Vlk Collection. One of the great Ike treasures of the John Pendergrass Collection.
