Item Description
First example Hake's has offered, 7/8" with rarely seen back paper naming maker or jobber: "John Burns/3900/State St./Chicago" plus union bug. This Chicago White Sox club finished the 1906 season with an American League best 93-58 record before shocking everyone by defeating the powerhouse Chicago Cubs of the N.L. in the World Series, four games to two. Lovingly referred to as "the hitless wonders", the 1906 White Sox were led by HOF greats: Ed Walsh (SP) and George Davis (SS). Two tiny age dots by reverse collet. Front cello has barely seen faint small age tone on extreme edge at 3 and 5 o'clock. High gloss and VF. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
