Item Description
The four small buttons are each 5/8" related to Pa. governor candidate McCormick from 1914. All have W&H paper. The rarity is a 1.75" real photo with paper from Shaw, Phila. Titled "Democratic Candidates" and with slogan "No Entangling Alliances" picturing with offices and names McCormick for Gov., Creasy for Lt. Gov. and "For U.S. Senator A. Mitchell Palmer". Palmer came in third to Penrose (GOP) and Pinchot (Progressive). In 1919, Wilson appointed him Attorney General and his 1919-1920 campaign against radicalism became known as the Palmer Raids during the "Red Scare" era. All five are Exc. to NM.
