Item Description
Rare 2.25" with moderately age spotted and seldom seen back paper from Bunting Stamp Co. 713 Liberty St. Pittsburgh, Pa. The 1925 Pittsburgh Pirates dominated the National League, finishing with a regular season record of 95-58 under National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Bill McKechnie. Leading the offense that season was a trio of future Hall of Famers: Pie Traynor (3B), Kiki Cuyler (OF) and Max Carey (OF). The Pirates were owned by long-time National League executive Barney Dreyfuss, himself a Cooperstown selectee in 2008. Pittsburgh would go on to defeat the Washington Senators in the 1925 World Series. Very small degree of surface wear in reflected light with a very small slightly raised cello bump at center.
